I have my Art History mid-term exam on Thursday. Yes, already. I"ve only had three classes, but I only have eight classes at all, so it stands to reason that my fourth class should have the mid-term. Then, in two weeks I will have my final exam. I'm pretty confident about this upcoming test. It shouldn't be too difficult- we just have to identify the styles of some pieces, compare and contrast different pieces, and use analysis skills. I think I'll do alright. I've been taking notes and reading so I'm not worried.
As far as English goes, I've just finished my memoir, which I centered around my lifelong struggle with sickness and my recent fight with anxiety. My first draft didn't seem to flow together very well, but then I revised it and it makes much more sense now. I'm pretty proud of it. Perhaps I will post it as its own blog post sometime. But for now, you'll just have to imagine its awesomeness.
Tomorrow we will begin our second major English project, which is a print-ad analysis. Basically, I have taken an advertisement from a magazine and now must analyze its effectiveness in selling its product by means of its colour, lighting, line, form, balance, typography, etc. I chose an advert for Tropicana's new fruit-infused water product, Fruit Squeeze. It's really interesting to learn the makeup of what attracts and retains the human eye. For example, I noticed that all lines in the ad lead to the product picture. It's clever and subtle advertising tricks that really sell.
I went grocery shopping today, woohoo! I was craving some peaches so I got four cans of sliced peaches. Haha. I promise I'm eating more than just fruit! For lunch I had a chicken sandwich on whole wheat bread, I swear! I am exercising moderation in my diet, thank you very much. I got new bumper stickers for my car. Exciting stuff. Um... I took a shower? Haha. I really have nothing else that's very interesting. So I'll sign off for now.
